The Trinity CHRISTmas Ugly Sweater 5k Run/Walk Saturday morning was a big success on a number of levels. More than 200 participants gathered in the Trinity parking lot for the event. The run/walk began promptly at 9:30 am with the ringing of the church bell. The participants made their way long a bike path to the Lewis and Clark facility before reversing course and returning to Trinity. Organizers distributed medals and awards to participants in various categories.

Thanks to the generosity of all, Trinity was able to donate $1000 each to the Edwardsville Neighbors in Need and Glen-Ed Food Pantry service organizations.

Two ladies in the race told organizers Casey Shank, Morgan DeBlieck and Melissa Dunn that they had participated in many 5k runs and that Trinity’s was the best by far.

The second annual Trinity CHRISTmas Ugly Sweater Run/Walk is scheduled for December 9, 2017.
